Work Shop Schedule ~ 2019

Intro to Stranded Color Work

March 12th & 19th, 2019

Time: 6:30pm-8:30pm

Cost: $70 (includes materials)

Two stranded knitting is a Scandinavian tradition. The strands are alternated between stitches, creating a double layer of warmth as the alternate strand is passed behind the stitches on the inside of the mitten.

Colorwork knitting is the umbrella term that covers all types of knitting with multiple colors in a single row or round to create a pattern. It varies greatly, and you may see large motifs, longer floats or repeats, small geometric patterning, elaborate shape with long repeats, or multiple colors per round.

In this class we will get you acquainted with all the tricks of the trade for regular mitten making. You will learn 3D shaping methods such as increases and decreases.  Along with basic mitten construction we will learn beginner techniques of stranded knitting.
