Blending Fibers

Bamboo

Bamboo fiber is made of cellulose and is produced by processing methods such as steaming and boiling.

Natural bamboo fiber is extracted directly from bamboo culms. It has a 3 inch staple length,is creamy in colour with a high sheen similar to silk. Bamboo is excellent to blend in small amounts with alpaca or llama.

It gives a shiny luster and softness to the yarn taking it to the next level of "exotic".

Adding bamboo to a blend also adds elasticity, moisture absorption, ventilation and strength.

Soy Silk

Soy silk is a by-product of tofu manufacturing. It is soft, lustrous and resembles silk in appearance and handling. It has a 3-4 inch staple length, is a pale yellow colour and has a glossy sheen.

Soy silk when blended with alpaca or llama gives yarn a beautiful luster and softness.

Merino

Merino is the finest sheep's wool on the market today. Merino used by Legacy Lane is super-washed adding softness and eliminating the "scratchy" feel of wool.

When Merino wool is blended with alpaca or llama, even in small ratios it adds elasticity and memory to the yarn.
