About Legacy Lane

Legacy Lane Fiber Mill is a small family business located 45 minutes east of Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada in the farming community of Markhamville.

It is a full custom fiber processing mill specializing in exotic fleeces.

As well, Legacy Lane wholesales/retails its own brand of unique exotic yarns, and luxury alpaca insoles.

The Owner-Operators are two sisters backed by 4 generations of farming experience in Markhamville.

One sister, Mill Processing Manager Alyson Scott (right), is a graduate of the New Brunswick College of Craft and Design in textiles.

The other, Mill Business Manager Amy Carpenter Tonning is a graduate of the New Brunswick Community College in business.

Together they found a way to keep their own farm viable by diversifying from raising cattle to fiber production. A natural fit for their respective areas of expertisee.

As a custom fiber processing mill, Legacy Lane offers a full range of services including washing, picking, carding and de-hairing, spinning, and plying.

Yarn is by the skein or cone and can be blended with other natural fibers for added strength and durability.

Natural fibers used in blending are bamboo, merino, or soy silk.

Exotic yarns processed by Legacy Lane Fiber Mill include alpaca, llama, bison, cashmere, dog, angora and mohair.

Product lines are the result of careful planning, product testing, and market research conducted over the past three years.

"I'd just like to say that I'm so happy with the product and service I've received from Legacy Lane Fibre Mill. I've never received my product so quickly before, and the yarn is beautiful. I've had many positive comments on the yarn and the rovings, which sold very quickly. Thank You! "

I just wanted to let you know that I was thrilled with the yarn you spun for me from my alpaca fibre. Your intimate knowledge of fibre and textiles were most helpful in guiding me in choosing the best yarn product for each batch of fibre and I loved your blends with other exotic fibres! Your dehairing capabilities in particular turned even my coarser grades into glorious yarn with a silky handle. As a strong believer in providing only the best quality Canadian alpaca yarn to the knitting world, I am a huge fan of the dehairing process! My customers have commented on my yarn's superior quality as well and I cannot keep it in stock! Sign me up for next year's clip! "
